This noodle is from Taiwan and made by Niutou brand. The brand might not be famous, but in the world of budget dry noodles, this one totally has its spot! NiuTou Pepper Sesame Noodle is absolutely budget option in the cupboard.
Taste & Texture
Inside the pack, you get three things. They are one portion of noodles, one pack of peppery sauce, and one pack of sweet soy sauce. Cooking time is around 6 to 7 minutes. You can adjust it depending on how you like your noodles. Personally, I think 6 and a half minutes is just perfect!
Now for the flavour, the sesame isn’t super strong, but the peppery “ma” tingle is really there! You’ll feel that light numbing buzz on your tongue slowly coming in. It’s paired with a soft, gentle spiciness that’s flavorful, not crazy hot, and the spice is very stable, no surprise heat bombs! Super easy and enjoyable to eat.
The noodles themselves are not super chewy or bouncy, but the seasoning is not too heavy either. So if you want something that’s not too oily or rich, this bowl is a nice choice. And best part? It’s one of the cheapest pepper noodles I’ve ever had!
Phatlicious rating
Okay, maybe it’s not a super wow kind of noodle, but if you want something easy, tasty, peppery, and affordable—this is a great one to keep in your pantry! We give it a solid 7.5 out of 10 on the Phatlicious rating from Hazel B.
It is Perfect for lazy days and late-night noodle cravings!
