Fried Plant-based Shrimp With Purple Onion

Ingredients

  • Plant-based shrimps – 100 g
  • Medium purple onion – 1
  • Ginger – 3 slices
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tablespoon (for frying)
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Mirin – 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon

Food preparation

  • If using frozen plant-based shrimp, thaw them according to the package instructions
  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture
  • Peel the purple onion and slice it thinly. Set them aside

Direction

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over high heat
  2. Add ginger and purple onions into the frying pan
  3. Carefully place the shrimp in the hot oil
  4. Add salt, soy sauce and mirin into the frying pan
  5. Sauté the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the sauce is totally soaked
  6. Plant-based shrimps with purple onions is ready to serve.
