KiKi Aromatic Scallion Noodles is a pretty popular Taiwanese dry noodle option, and it definitely delivers on the strong scallion aroma. However, it also comes with a noticeable oily texture. If you LOVE scallion flavour and don’t mind a bit of greasiness, this might be a good pick for you!

How does it taste?
Unlike some other noodles that come with multiple sauce packets, this one only has a single sauce packet, which includes scallion-infused oil and soy sauce. It simple and flavourful.
Cooking is easy, with a recommended boiling time of 3-5 minutes. I tried 4 minutes, and while the noodles were fully cooked, the texture was on the softer. If you prefer super chewy noodles, this might not be the best choice.
Flavour-wise, the scallion aroma is strong and rich. But here’s the catch … it’s quite oily. If you’ve had freshly made scallion oil noodles before, you’ll notice that this instant version doesn’t quite compare to the real thing. But if you’re looking for a quick, convenient fix for your scallion oil cravings, it does the job.
Price & value
Each big pack contains 5 noodle portions, and the price is about average for dry noodles. It’s more expensive than regular instant noodle, about 20-30% pricier than Korean instant noodles, but similar in price to other dry noodle options like sesame noodles.
Hazel B’s Rating
The strong scallion aroma is great, but the soft texture and heavy oiliness might not be for everyone. If you don’t mind a slightly greasy texture and love scallion flavour, go for it! But if you’re looking for authentic homemade-style scallion oil noodles, this isn’t quite it.
Hazel B gives this bowl of noodle 6/10 in overall.
Would I buy it again? Probably not.. I think there are better daily noodle options out there!
