Today, I tried Kung-Fu MaMa Taiwanese Sun Dried Noodles – Sesame & Peanut from Taiwan. One pack has three servings of noodles, and each serving comes with three small seasoning packets. Perfect to enjoy for three meals!
Each set of seasonings includes: one soy sauce packet, one packet of dry veggie mix with coriander, broccoli bits, black & white sesame seeds, peanut powder, garlic powder, and chilli powder, and one orange sesame sauce packet.
Easy to cook, ready in 4-5 minutes
I just follow the instructions, boil for 4-5 minutes. I cooked mine for 4 minutes, noodles turned out just right. It is not too soft, not too hard, texture is okay. But, not super chewy or springy.
Sesame sauce flavour is a bit light
The seasoning looks rich, but when you eat it, the sesame sauce flavour is not very strong. It feels more like orange sesame oil, nothing too surprising. The veggie mix and peanut powder give a little extra flavour, but overall, it tastes pretty normal, not outstanding.
Price is a bit high
The price is about 10% higher than similar noodles in the market. Considering the taste and texture, I think the value is just okay. It is not cheap.
Hazel B’s score – 5.5/10
Overall, Hazel B gives this noodle 5.5 out of 10. It’s not very bad, easy to eat, but nothing special or very tasty. I probably wouldn’t buy it again. It’s the kind of noodle you can eat once in a while, but not something I’d stock up.
